Understanding PTSD
A PTSD Diagnosis is given after witnessing or experiencing a disturbing or traumatic event. Symptoms have persisted for more than 1 month and are causing significant distress for daily functioning.
Treatment Options
Medication and Therapy are both supported in treating PTSD. Research shows effectiveness with certain types of therapy approaches. Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are supportive therapies for Trauma and PTSD.
